Design Diploma
Through the diploma program in Digital Design at The Art Institute
Online, students can pursue concentrated studies to improve
existing skills, or better prepare for career changes or promotion.
Courses
are offered in a six-week intensive format during which students
complete assignments and participate in online discussions
five days per week. Students may complete their work on those
days at any time during a 24-hour period. Students are encouraged
to take a maximum of two courses during each six-week session.
There are two six-week sessions within each quarter.
Digital
Design students learn design fundamentals, lettering and typography,
and graphic design. Students create color composites and renderings,
and are introduced to using computer applications and sophisticated
software as design tools. Students use these tools to create
high quality layouts and designs.
Associate
of Science Degree in Multimedia & Web Design
The Associate of Science degree in Multimedia & Web Design
was created to prepare today's students for careers involving
the Internet and marketing and design. Multimedia & Web
Design is a professional discipline which integrates the elements
of audio, video, still images, animation, text, and data for
the delivery of interactive content either through CDROM or
over the World-Wide Web. The Associate of Science degree career
track marries the student's individual artistic abilities
with complex technological skills so that the graduate is
prepared to adapt once he or she enters this fast-evolving
field.
Students can apply for entry-level career opportunities with
corporations, organizations, educational institutions, government
agencies, entertainment, and advertising industries.
Course
work begins with drawing and design, digital image manipulation,
multimedia system design, script writing, sound, video, and
animation, then progresses to more complex classes such as
interactive information design and Web development -- all
under the guidance of faculty members recruited from this
fascinating industry. At graduation, students have an individualized
digital portfolio to showcase for prospective employers the
practical skills and technical expertise they have acquired.
Bachelor
of Science Degree in Multimedia & Web Design
The Bachelor of Science in Multimedia & Web Design prepares
graduates for entry-level positions leading to careers such
as multimedia producer, multimedia scriptwriter, computer-based
training designer, web designer, and web script language developer.
The program provides a foundation of design skills with an
emphasis on interactive design while also preparing students
to use the tools necessary to create interactive content.
Multimedia
& Web Design Bachelor's Program graduates should expect
to be prepared to apply for entry-level employment as multimedia
scriptwriters, multimedia production assistants, web designers,
web site developers, and web script language developers, and

Web Design students learn the basics of working in the World

HTML scripting as well as page edit software, web graphics
and animation, video production for web, and Javascript. Students
will explore the various site design models used in personal,

and web sites utilizing a variety of techniques and tools.
Depending
on level of specialty, graduates are qualified for entry-level
