| If
you have always wanted to get an online degree - an online masters
degree, online graduate degree, online bachelors degree or even
an online doctorate or online PhD degree you can now do it through
Distance Learning also known as Distance Education.
What this
means is that you can get your education from a distance -
that is distance education. You can do the learning at home,
and never have to go to class, thus achieving your degree
via distance learning.
We all
know campus based or online college degrees and online graduate
degrees translate, proven by numerous studies, into MORE MONEY.
But if you could not fit school into your schedule - the solution
may be "distance learning" or "distance education"
a new buzz word that has been getting louder since the mid
1990's. What is "distance learning"or "distance
education" and how can it benefit you?
Distance
learning or distance education is a way of learning and getting
a degree from a "distance" from the campus, which
may be around the corner or around the world. You do your
work at home or on the road, and often you never see the inside
of a classroom. It comes in several different formats, such
as correspondence courses, telecourses, interactive television
courses, audio and video tapes, and web based instruction.
What they have in common is that you are studying via distance
learning or distance education, regardless of how the information
is delivered to you.. You can often work at your own pace
and set your own schedule. You can sometimes get credit for
"outside the classroom learning" such as work experience,
military experience, continuing education classes, workshops
as well as credit for classes taken in other schools, no matter
how long ago they were taken. Again these classes could have
been without ever entering the classroom - all achieved via
distance education or distance learning.
Students
can communicate with instructors and other students in online
forums or by phone or fax. The possibilities are almost endless.
Each program seems to offer different formats. Some schools
have exam-based courses, where you study and when you pass
an exam, you get college credit via distance learning. Others
use research papers to demonstrate learning via distance education.
Because
there is flexibility when you learn via distance learning
schools often offer "fast track" programs allowing
you to complete your degree in far less than the traditional
amount of time that an on-campus program requires because
you can spend the time you would have spent traveling studying
when you study via distance education.
With
no traveling to campus and the ability to do your class work
in your home, or anywhere you like, almost everyone can now
have the degree that they have only dreamed of in the past.
You can keep your current job and spend more time with your
family. All because distance education and distance learning
are the path of the future and the future is now.
